Davy Brown
Davy Brown lives and works in Galloway and local landscapes feature in many of his works. He exhibits widely throughout the UK and his work is rapidly becoming recognised in the USA.
As a young Scottish artist Davy studied at the Glasgow School of Art, having his first solo exhibition in Glasgow in 1971 at the Citizen’s Theatre. He is a former principal teacher of art at Douglas-Ewart High School, leaving in 2002 to concentrate on his artistic career.
Davy Brown paintings, with their very distinctive style of modern Scottish art, have consistently grown in popularity in recent years. Many Davy Brown paintings have been inspired by his love of the Scottish landscapes and recently this much acclaimed Scottish artist has started to produce equally compelling paintings of France and Spain.
