Marcella Wylie
In 2008 Marcella graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design with a BDes Hons degree in Textile Design. She specialised in printed textiles and her graduate collection involved a range of print processes resulting in hand made silk scarves and velvet capes.
Marcella also focuses her time on illustration work. One of her illustration pieces was recently selected by the Association of Illustrators (AOI) to be printed in their Images 35 Publication (due for release September 2011). Her current range of products includes silk scarves, throws and greetings cards that are all hand made.
For more than the past 2 years, since graduation, Marcella has not only been working as a freelance designer but also focusing her work on commissioned paintings. Her mark making skills developed from textile design has inspired her to create mainly floral and still life paintings using a range of mixed medias.
